A friend of mine was lucky enough to attend the Marchesa FW11 presentation and I am obsessed with every piece - she messaged me pictures from her phone so please excuse the poor quality.

Can you please pay attention to the stunning veils? I love how Georginia and Keren both incorporated them into the gowns. What girl doesn't love layers of tulle surrounding them?

Lemon bars

Perfect little sweet something for the spring!

For the crust:
1/2 pound unsalted butter, at room temperature1/2 cup granulated sugar2 cups flour1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
For the lemon layer:
4 extra-large eggs at room temperature
1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest (3 to 4 lemons)
2/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
2/3 cup flour

Confectioners’ sugar, for dusting

Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9 by 13 by 2-inch baking sheet.

For the crust, cream the butter and sugar until light in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Combine the flour and salt and, with the mixer on low, add to the butter until just mixed. Dump the dough onto a well-floured board and gather into a ball. Flatten the dough with floured hands and press it into the greased baking sheet, building up a 1/2-inch edge on all sides. Chill.

Bake the crust for 15 to 20 minutes, until very lightly browned. Let cool on a wire rack. Leave the oven on.

For the lemon layer, whisk together the eggs, sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and flour. Pour over the crust and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool to room temperature.

Cut into triangles and dust with confectioners’ sugar.

I've been looking for the perfect macaroon recipe for a while. Although macaroons are tiny little things made essentially out of only egg whites, sugar, and almonds, their texture and creative flavour possibilities make them absolutely irresistible.

125g ground almonds
250g icing sugar
3 egg whites
8g sachet dried egg white powder
30g caster sugar
Few drops of pink food colouring
For the filling
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
50g butter
142ml carton double cream

Beat egg whites until they begin to rise and hold shape

Fold in dry ingredients with a rubber spatula. Make sure there are no streaks of egg whites

Pour batter in pastry bag.

Pipe batter on parchment paper.

Bake for 15-18 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

I made a lemon buttercream filling for my macaroons.

Voila!

Sweet Jesus am I glad London Fashion Week is over. I don't want to go to Somerset House again for a very long time, I thought I would never make it out alive. All bitching aside it was pretty amazing to be a part of the 25th Anniversary of LFW, saw some diva tantrums and crazy outfits and fetched Jasper Conran a bacon sarnie, as you do.
Kelly Cutrone, scary lady and head of People's Revolution (if you've not heard of her, watch The Hills or The City) was there for one day with her filming crew, keep your eyes peeled to see me in the background pretending to look busy. Kelly was told not to step on the catwalk while it was uncovered so we could avoid scuff marks in between shows, to which she exclaimed "I'm producing this fucking show! I'll step wherever I like" ohhhhkay then lady.
